Creative Expression – Color is a vital part of creative expression, and while it is important that your child learn that the sky is blue and grass is green, it is also important that they be allowed to experiment with color. Mixing paints and having free rein to color a picture any way they want to, allows children to express themselves creatively, so don’t always insist that they use color accurately.
Read, read and read some more – You don’t need worksheets for this one either, but you may want to join the local library rather than spend a fortune on books that your child outgrows as quickly as they outgrow their clothes! The more you read to your child, with your child and in front of your child, the quicker they will learn to read, and learn how to enjoy it too.
There are many parents, who make use of the writing worksheets for teaching the children about the writing patterns, even before they start their school. There are lots of options available and even online options are prevalent these days. This will make your kids ready for going to high school. Online means are easy for parents and teachers and also interest the children to get the interest in getting the ideas about writing.
At a young age, kids are first taught to write letters in print only. When kids reach the age of eight to ten, they are taught how to write in cursive. They may find this quite difficult and boring at first. But one fun way to teach them this is to use worksheets also. The basic cursive worksheets that you can use are Rockin’ Round Letters, Climb’n’ Slide Letters, Loopy Letters, Lumpy Letters, and Mix ’n’ Match.
Remember that with the so many worksheets available, choose one that is best suited for a certain lesson. Plan ahead what type of worksheet to use for a given day, depending on what you plan to teach. There are many free worksheets available, especially online, but still the best worksheet is one that you personally draft. This way, you are able to match the level of difficulty of the activity in accordance to the performance level of your own students.
Vocabulary Expansion – By incorporating colors to describe various items, your child expands their vocabulary too. Discovering new items of a certain color helps them learn new words to name the items, such as a red apple, a red fire truck, a red shirt and so forth.
